As we look ahead to 2025, the Triangle's culinary scene is set to expand with a diverse array of new dining options. From Indian cuisine to pet-friendly eateries, here's a mouthwatering preview of what's to come in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and beyond.
Lime & Lemon Indian Grill & Bar Expands
Lime & Lemon Indian Grill & Bar, a Durham-born favorite, is spreading its flavorful wings across the Triangle. Founded in 2019, this Indian restaurant is adding two new locations in 2025:
- Apex: Opening in spring 2025 at 2025 Creekside Landing Drive in Beaver Creek Crossings
- Rolesville: Coming later in 2025 to the Cobblestone Village development
These additions will bring Lime & Lemon's presence to six locations, including the original Durham spot, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and a fusion concept in Jacksonville.
Raleigh's Downtown and Midtown Boom
Barrio Tacos + Tequila + Whiskey
Smoky Hollow in downtown Raleigh will welcome Barrio Tacos + Tequila + Whiskey in early 2025. This will be their first North Carolina location, offering build-your-own tacos, creative cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere.
Sir Walter Coffee Expands
The second location of Sir Walter Coffee has recently opened on Fayetteville Street in Charter Square. By day, they serve coffee and food, transforming into Sir Walter Cocktail in the evenings.
Peregrine
Chef Saif Rahman and artist Patrick Shanahan are collaborating to open Peregrine at The Exchange Raleigh in Midtown. Aiming for a February 2025 opening, this concept will draw inspiration from Rahman's global travels and North Carolina roots.
La Cucina Italiana
Smoky Hollow will also welcome La Cucina Italiana in early 2025. Known for authentic Italian flavors, they'll offer handcrafted dishes including pizza, pasta, and Italian specialties with gluten-free and vegan options.
Barking Dog
North Hills will see the arrival of Barking Dog, a pet-friendly restaurant from New York City. Offering breakfast, lunch, and comfort food classics, it'll be located near Midtown Park.
Chapel Hill's Sweet Treat
Chapel Chill, an ice cream shop, is set to open in early 2025 on Weaver Dairy Road in Cedar Falls Courtyard. They'll offer premium ice cream made in-store.
Raleigh's Iron Works Welcomes Little Rey
Chef Ford Fry's Northern Mexican concept, Little Rey, will open on December 9th at Raleigh's Iron Works. Expect wood-roasted "chicken al carbon," tacos, fresh salsas, and refreshing margaritas in a spacious setting with indoor and outdoor seating.
Already Serving
While we look forward to these new openings, don't forget to check out Diced, a locally-owned, woman-owned restaurant specializing in fresh, made-to-order salads, wraps, and grain bowls. They recently opened their fourth location in downtown Raleigh at 121 Fayetteville Street.
Stay tuned as these restaurants launch throughout the year – they're sure to add even more flavor and excitement to our already vibrant food scene! Whether you're planning your next night out or simply looking for inspiration on where to eat next, these spots are definitely worth checking out.
